Hello Bible students! Last week we had the honor of having revival at our school. Below please post your reflections/thoughts/lessons learned. Write about three different chapel services, if you write about four-extra credit! Can't wait to read your thoughts. :)
Tuesday: I forgot the speaker's name and what he spoke about, but it was about sanctification.
ReplyDeleteWednesday: Pastor Brian Simms came and spoke to us about something. He told a story about some nasty stink that came from some old meat in his vehicle and how he couldn't get rid of the stink without getting rid of the thing causing the stink.
Thursday: Pastor Shane Nerenburg (or however it's spelled), well he also spoke about sanctification. He pointed out that the chief attribute of God is holiness.
Friday: Pastor Zamora exhorted about being truly set apart for God. He talked about Jesus' prayer for us believers in John 17.
The revival was great.

ReplyDeleteDanny Coda- he was good, he spoke about not lying and stuff... Great worship, upbeat and fun
Wednesday
Brian Simms- he started with a really funny story and kepy us all interested, one of my favorites this yr
Thursday
Shane Neurenburg- Stuck to the theme and gave alot of details on Gods holiness
Friday
David Zamora- Just like always, he gave a message filled with power and hut us hard... Loved it. We also had a "checkup" from some pastors from the past

ReplyDeleteTuesday: Danny Coda said one thing that stood out. Instead of adding Jesus as an app in our phones(lives) so he can be there whenever we need Him, we need to rid of everything else so he can take over, and have Him be our only App.
ReplyDeleteWednesday: Brian Simms spoke about the filth that we have in our lives and that we cant just cover it up with other stuff to make it go, away we need to completely clean it up and wash it away.
Thursday: Coach Shane talked about God's holiness in the up most form.
Friday: Pastor Zamora did the same thing he does every year, but he let us know that John 17 was one of the most important chapters in the Bible.
Overall ithink iliked revival better this year than previous ones.

Tuesday
ReplyDeleteDanny Coda - Seemed a little silly and played the "I used to be a thug...wearing my vans and whatnot" card just a little too often. He spoke and said that our christian walk should be different than that of the gentiles.
Wednesday
Brian Simms - All around cool guy. Talked about sanctification being an issue of the heart and being willing to live your life the way Jesus would live your life.
Thursday
Shane Nerenburg - Absolutely love his teaching/preaching style. Spoke about three aspects of santification: (1)bodily sacrifice; (2)faith in Christ; (3)work of the Holy Ghost. He made the point that works can show that we're sanctified but works alone cannot sanctify.
Friday
David Zamora - I tried really hard to pay attention to this one but I ended up coloring instead. But I colored him...so that should count. Ask Lee, Christian, or Mrs. Zamora for proof.
Wednesday
ReplyDeleteBrian Simms about being christians we need to get rid of the "stink" (sin) within side us. By getting rid of it we shouldn't have to worry about our outer appearance.
Thursday
Coach Shane talked about how we have to make sacrifices to get closer to God. We should stand out to the world and stop doing worldly things like sex, drugs, alcohol,etc.
Friday
Pastor Zamora talked about his past again but one thing that got my attention the most out of his lecture was when he told us about John 17.

Tuesday: Some guy played the guitar with his teeth and rapped. The speaker was Danny I think and he talked about our walk.
ReplyDeleteWednesday: Pastor Simms spoke to us about getting rid of the stink. He said we had to get rid of the meat.
Thursday: Shane spoke to us about God's chief attribute being holliness. This was my favorite day.
Friday: Pastor Zamora spoke that day about sanctification and did the whole stand up thing.
Tuesday: I think danny connected with the younger people, don't just download the Jesus app just take everything off your phone and only have Jesus on there.
ReplyDeleteWednesday: pastor Simms, said take out the funk from your life. If Jesus owns your house don't tell him he can't go into to certain rooms cause the rooms you are hiding are the rooms that are filled with sin.
Thursday: pastor shane, said that we need to get rid of all the bad in our life, cause until we throw that away we can't grow to be more like Jesus.
Friday: pastor dave, said that loving God and Loving Jesus is cool, what's not cool is all the stuff we watch on tv
